Infants
Infants in our center will have their own schedules. They will eat and sleep according to what each individual child needs. A loving teacher will often rock with the infants. Parents have the option of bringing breast milk or formula for their infants to eat. We will not give any child solid foods until we get permission from the parents. Open communication between parent and teacher is a must. A daily report is sent home with each child in the infant and toddler room. This report will list what the child ate during the day, when diaper changes occurred, if any supplies are needed for your child and also what fun things they did during the day. Infants will be allowed to explore their surroundings in a safe and loving atmosphere. A few of the activities that we have to help encourage growth and development are: jump-a-roo, peek-a-boo, picture books, mirrors, outside time (weather permitting) and listening to music.
Toddlers
Toddlers will begin to use their words to express their wants and needs. A loving and qualified teacher will be there to assist in choosing the right words. Toddlers will be allowed to experiment with crayons, paints, play-doh, and a wide variety of other medias. Don't be surprised when you child comes home singing new songs. Every morning, the toddlers will participate in circle time. During circle time singing takes place as well as counting, learning the days of the week, talking about the weather outside, learning colors and a story. Other activities that fill their day are: simple puzzles, dancing to music, playing make believe, playing outside and even taking short walks around town when the weather is nice. These are only a few of the many activities that you child will be able to do while at Cradle To Crayons. A majority of the art projects will be used to decorate the class room before being sent home with the parents.
